The Extreme Ops HRT Smith & Wesson Mini button-release tactical folder design is a scaled-down, California legal design and is a very popular DIY convertible knife*. It is a great manual knife (as shipped), but really works well when converted to automatic. This knife is a top choice of DIY automatic knife makers.

The size is 4.9" overall. The manual blade action is very smooth and the well-designed, patented spine safety gives you the secure lockup that you want post-conversion. The modern spear point blade is 1.8" inches long, made of 440A stainless steel, semi-satin finished. The aluminum handles are black-coated and include inlay grip and machined finished surfaces. This knife comes with lanyard string.
