Well, this was my first purchase from NK.com and my first knife kit. My package arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I was impressed with the packing slip. It not only listed the items I ordered (as expected), but it was also signed by the person who gathered my order and another person who checked it again to make sure it was right. Needless to say my order was correct. These guys are on the ball.
I pulled the stinger pack out (little clear ziplock bags that contained all the parts) and checked it out. No problems. I pulled everything out and noticed.. no instructions. HMM.. Interesting. The kit didn't look all that great. What did I expect for 21 bucks right? Well, upon further inspection I noticed that all the parts were finished really well. Much better than I expected. As I began to assemble I noticed that all the parts were machined and fitted with precision. Someone put a lot of thought into this kit.. So skip ahead a half an hour and my Stinger knife it together and I am very pleased with the product and the overall process. There were not instructions as I said, but what fun it was to figure it all out by myself. I wil dsay that I am happy I upgraded to the metal washers that go between the blade and the sides. This made the action much more smooth (I tried both sets). I also assed a couple drops of oil to the action and some thread lock to the screw that holds the blade.
So, I am not only back to KN.com to write a review I am also here to order another kit. Maybe a fixed blade this time. My last order contained some kydex. I haven't tried anything with it yet. Save that for my next review.
Kershaw my ass. I'll take one of these babies over a Kershaw any day. I am very happy with my purchase. There will be more.
