Our standard Modern Skinner knife kit (full-metal) is one of our all-time best fixed blade designs. We are now offering a twist on the classic stainless Modern Skinner kit design. The "Wood Modern Skinner" is identical to the stainless model, except that it is constructed from high-quality curly maple and figured cherry components. When finished, the Wood Modern Skinner is a beautiful facsimile of its popular namesake. Because this model is constructed from wood, it makes a great starting point for file-work training, grind training and other embellishment practice. It is also quite a conversation piece, as it is nearly identical in every way to the original design.

The Wood Modern Skinner makes a great project for all levels of knife enthusiasts, including younger builders, woodworking hobbyists, collectors and others. All parts, including blade, handles, bolsters, bolster pins, handle pins and thong hole tubing are included with this kit. All that is needed to complete this project is epoxy, sandpaper, a hacksaw (for pin trimming) and a hammer (for peening pins). This kit is as easy (and fun) as it gets.
