This is a .4375 (7/16) inch pocket cutter bit that is used for cutting the coil spring cavity needed for creating a spring-assisted folding knife. These are high quality bits that are used for metal hole making. Our HD coil cutters provide fast, accurate, burr-free holes in steel materials up to 3/16 inches thick. These are annular coil cutting tools that cut around the edge of the hole and eject the center as a slug. Because they are hollow, there is no dead zone, as with twist drills. Unlike hole saws that rip and tear through the material, these give you a quality, virtually burr-free hole.
